Makita Saw Blades
Makita saw blades are made with high quality metals, and are built to last, just like any of
the other Makita tools out there. Makita offers many, MANY different types of saw blades, all of which pertain to a
specific type of tool that they sell. However, you will find that some of the saw blades are made of different
materials. Generally the more expensive the saw blade is, the better the material that it is made from, and the
longer that it will last, as expected.
I think it is fair to say that the “reciprocating” Makita saw blades are by far the most popular ones. This is
likely due to the simple fact that reciprocating saws generally see a LOT of use, at least when compared to the
other types of saws. Also, they are almost always used to cut metal, which means that their blades wear out at a
much faster rate when compared to wood working saws. And on top of that, the blades are very small, and move back
and forth at a VERY rapid rate (much like with a “saws all” to be exact).
Next are the Makita miter saw blades, which are also very popular, due to the fact that miter
saws are arguably the most common type of wood working saw on the market. They don’t wear out nearly as fast as
reciprocating saw blades, but they still do need to be replaced fairly often (well, at least if you want your saw
to cut at the optimal speed that it is normally capable of). One thing worth mentioning is that most people like to
go with a carbine blade for their miter saw, which will last dramatically longer than the cheaper, regular steel
Makita saw blades. However, if you don’t plan on using your miter saw very often, then just saw yourself some money
and go with a standard steel blade.
Makita circular saw blades are very similar to the blades that you find in miter saws, but they can come in many
different flavors. Most notably are the ones that are designed to cut through hard metals. These tend to wear out
pretty fast, as expected, but much like with the miter saw blades, you can buy them with carbide tips, which will
greatly increase their longevity. Unfortunately, again, this will also increase the price of the blade though!
Last but not least, did you know that they even make Makita chain saws? So with that being said, another highly
popular Makita saw blade is the Makita chain saw blade. There isn’t really much of a variety available for their
chain saw blades, since generally most chain saw blades are just made out of plain old steel. This is probably due
to the fact that so many people ruin chain saw blades fairly fast (mainly by hitting the ground when cutting wood).
So I guess it would not be very practical to pay a lot of money for a blade that is likely to be ruined in just a
few days anyways.
